Work from home

The Work:

We offer completely flexible part-time working. You will be writing documents of special educational needs, summarising information into a clear format.

  • Flexible work as part of a large team
  • Work paid for on a per piece basis; the more efficiently you work, the more you earn
  • Work whatever time of day is convenient for you
  • Comprehensive training and support, through individual mentoring and group training sessions, which are also great social occasions to meet other writers
  • Interesting and mentally challenging work that makes a positive difference to children’s lives
  • The prospect of increasing pay scales for improving writing standards

You Must Have:

  • The ability to write clearly and succinctly, to a high standard and with attention to detail – you should have A-level English Literature or similar as a minimum
  • Excellent timekeeping and personal organisation skills, as the work is done to tight timescales and you are required to manage your own time
  • The ability to travel to Braintree to attend training sessions
  • Access to a computer and the ability to use it – some word processing is necessary, but this is not a copy typing job!
  • A minimum of Safeguarding Level 1; we can provide access to this training, if you have not already undertaken it

Here’s what one of our writers has to say about her experience…
“Although I have only recently started working for this service I have already begun seeing the benefits of the flexible working pattern Enhance offers the writers. I am able to work around my family commitments and have no childcare costs or difficulties to contend with. I can work at whatever time is convenient for me and at whatever pace suits me, enabling me to fit in social arrangements and school events for example, and the flexibility helps with those unexpected things that life sometimes throws at you!”

NB: We are always particularly busy during school holidays. The work is ideal for parents wishing to work around their families, but we welcome applications from people who have increased availability during school holidays.

We are expecting to take on new writers periodically throughout the year. Please email recruitment@enhanceehc.co.uk if you are interested in joining our team.

Update 24.03.20: All recruitment is suspended in light of the current situation, but we will update this message as and when anything changes.

Enhance EHC is an equal opportunities employer. We welcome applications from all suitably qualified persons. However, as our workforce is predominantly white British women, we particularly welcome applications from any under-represented groups. All appointments will be made on merit.
