About this course
The CPD accredited Fundamentals of Writing EHC Plans 2.0 course is suitable for both new staff induction and accredited ongoing training for those with some existing experience of SEND or EHC plans. The course is designed for all professionals involved in developing EHC plans, including SEND case officers / EHCP co-ordinators / plan writers / SEND support staff, to develop their understanding of the EHCP assessment process and provide a solid grounding in the fundamentals elements of writing and amending plans.

Key points about this course:
- The average completion time for this course is approximately 12 hours, depending on the learner’s current level of experience. The course can be paused and resumed at any stage, enabling each learner to work at their own pace.
- Learners will work through 13 modules of content, each one followed by a non-assessed ‘Test Yourself’ quiz, to enable reflection of some of the key points from the learning material.
- At the end of 7 of the modules learners will also complete a plan writing activity; this will involve writing a specific section of an EHC plan, so that by the end of the course they will have a fully complete draft plan.
- Learners are directed to download resources and course notes at specific points in the course, which can be saved for future reference.
- There is a multiple-choice assessment at the end of the course, so that learners can demonstrate how they have met the assessment criteria for each of the learning outcomes. Learners must achieve a pass rate of at least 70%, but module content can be reviewed prior to taking the assessment and learners have two attempts to pass the assessment.
- Upon successful completion, learners will receive a digital Certificate of Achievement and gain 5 CPD hours.
